The Pumi is a herding dog bred for generations to manage sheep and livestock. Energetic and highly responsive to training; they are gentle with children and generally sociable with other pets; and they do not cope well when left alone for long periods. The Pumi needs a solid hour of exercise every day to stay mentally and physically balanced, and a weekly brush keeps their coat looking its best. Active first-time owners who can commit to daily exercise will find Pumi a loyal and deeply rewarding companion.
