Irish Water Spaniel

Retrievers, Flushing Dogs, Water Dogs

The Irish Water Spaniel is a curly-coated water worker originally tasked with retrieving waterfowl. Intensely driven and quick to learn; they are wonderful with children and get along happily with other animals; and they do not cope well when left alone for long periods. The Irish Water Spaniel demands at least 1.5 to 2 hours of vigorous exercise daily, and regular brushing several times a week and occasional professional grooming keeps their coat in top condition. Only very active, experienced owners who can truly match their drive should consider Irish Water Spaniel.
