FCI Group 3
American Staffordshire Terrier
Terriers
The American Staffordshire Terrier descended from the old bull-baiting breeds, later refined into a loyal and spirited companion. Active and moderately trainable; they can be challenging around other dogs or animals and need careful introduction; though they are a very vocal breed that may not suit noise-sensitive environments. The American Staffordshire Terrier needs a solid hour of exercise every day to stay mentally and physically balanced, and their coat is low-maintenance and needs only an occasional brush. Active first-time owners who can commit to daily exercise will find American Staffordshire Terrier a loyal and deeply rewarding companion.
